Lord,
Source of eternal life and truth, give to your shepherd Benedict XVI a spirit of courage and right judgment, a spirit of knowledge and love. By governing with fidelity those entrusted to his care, may he, as the successor to the Apostle Peter and Vicar of Christ, build your Church into a sacrament of unity, love and peace for all the world. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen

St. Mark Parish News: As most of you are aware, Fr. Ignatius (Fr. Iggy to most of us) died suddenly in July after returning from the Provincial Chapter meeting. We ask your prayers for the happy repose of his soul and the consolation of those who love and miss him.

As a result of the Chapter, our pastor, Fr. Mark has a new assignment as provincial vicar. While we are certain he will be wonderful in his new area of working for the Lord and serving his brother Franciscans, St. Mark's and the fraternity will miss him very much. He has been very generous with the facilities and most supportive of our fraternity. May the Lord Bless and keep you, Fr. Mark and may His Face shine upon you and give you peace.

Also we announce our new pastor, Fr. Richard Florek, OFM, Conv. has arrived!

He has a delightful sense of humor (even if he is from Buffalo!)

Also, our new Our new parochial vicar, Fr. Michael Englert, OFM Conv., will arrive in early October - next week! - Can you guess the name of his hometown? - Yep- BUFFALO!!!! Don't worry, South Florida sunshine will warm them up in a hurry!!! Just don't forget sun block and no see-um repellent!

We extend to all our dear friars our fraternal love, support and prayers and hope our new friars will join us during our fraternity meetings!

Please share your wealth of information...

Don’t we all have papers, magazines and old spiritually uplifting materials at home that might be of use to our new people (and our “old” people too!)?
Some examples of material to share would be: The Franciscan Messenger, old Tau newsletters, handouts etc. This is the time of year to “clean house”; to start anew, afresh! Well, instead of throwing out those things, why don’t we share them with each other? Bring a few things each month to give away. (DON’T bring them all at once!!)
